With the number of different classifications in public organizations, developing job-specific examinations based on legally-defensible principles can often seem like an overwhelming task.  This session will provide tips on how to best determine what test components are needed for a solid exam plan, whether it be multiple-choice tests, interviews, performance, situational exercises or writing exercises. In addition, this session will include an often overlooked piece of the process - the item analysis. We will briefly address what is an item analysis and how to the use the exam data to further enhance the reliability and validity of your assessment process.
